A String of Bad Decisions

Dedicating time to training is kind of tough, as it turns out. Trying to eat well is even harder! I really struggle maintaining a healthy diet. Don't get me wrong, I eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. The problem is that I eat fruits, vegetables, nuts, whole grains, lean protein..... followed by cupcakes, candy, loads of cheese, pizza, coffee, etc... you get the point. Today, I reached a new low...

For lunch I had the dreaded fast food. Not sure where this urge came from. Luckily it only happens about once every year or so. Not only did I have fast food, I had a burger!!! I don't even like meat! That's really the funny part.

I had a really tasty sushi dinner with friends in Boulder. Then.... the almighty cupcake called my name. How could I say no?!?

Luckily, I did manage to spend 2 hours on my bike between gorging myself. :) I think it got this all out of my system in one big swoop. Back to salads and tofu tomorrow. :)

I realize this blog is turning into a food blog rather than an Ironman training blog!! So... here's my workout for tomorrow:
RUN 0:50
This is a gentle, relaxing run done at very low intensity throughout. Your HR
intensity should never exceed 75%, and should be held closer to 65%.
BIKE 0:35
Use this as a "cool down" spin in your small chain ring, beginning @75%
intensity after the run, and gradually coming down to 60% by the end.
You should feel invigorated at the end of your first "real" week!
